Gerald Thurston’s (American, 1914 – ) elegant mid-century modern floor lamp for Laurel combines three types of metal to create a distinctive piece that fits into virtually any environment. The lamp’s tulip-like form is topped with a hand-blown frosted glass shade made in Italy; it retains the original label which identifies it as such. The shade is enveloped by an asymmetrical cup rendered in aluminum which is set of by a brass turn switch and supported by a slender column wrapped in Rosewood.
The lamp manufactured in the 1960’s is in excellent condition. It measures 67″ High by 10″ Wide and 10″ Deep.
