S. Clifford grew up in the Pacific Northwest, graduated from the UW School of Art in the late 80’s and resides in Tacoma, WA. She works in a variety of media including encaustic, acrylic, oils on paper, wood, canvas and other materials. After art school she began incorporating found objects (garbage and/or cast-off items) into her work, especially in her ‘memory box’ pieces. She often dismantles past work and reimagines it through collage or other techniques.
Susan’s work has been included in Tieton’s 10″ by 10″ juried show, and other group shows. She received past support from Artist Trust and the former King County Arts Commission and held solo shows and her work is included in private collections in the Northwest.
She created an art therapy program for seniors with living with dementia while working for nonprofit organizations. She now devotes herself full time to making art and supporting local artists and arts organizations.
