This Trouser Ratchet Press is used, from an estate, and sold, “as is.” It is The “Beaver” Ratchet Press, Great Britain Patent No. 262296. There is a tear-out (see picture) on the surface and this piece shows the character of age.

On January 29, 1926, Justin Richardson applied for the patent for this trouser press. It consists of a baseboard to which are connected two upper boards and secured together by the metal straps. This particular press has been modified for use or for display as seen by the hooks and wire. It is unique in that its tag has been traced back to a Scottish town just south of Glasgow.

This weighs a full 11 lbs, and is quite large at 28 x 14 inches.
